PRODUCT DESIGN / MOBILE APP
Melody
A neobrutalist music-sharing app concept for discovering songs, connecting with friends, and sharing Spotify tracks with context.
01 / Overview
Overview
Melody is a social music-sharing app concept centered on sharing songs with friends. Users can create an account and custom avatar, add friends, discover music, and send Spotify tracks with a personal note.
02 / The Challenge
The Challenge
A song can mean something different to the person sharing it, but a link alone does not explain why it was sent. Melody brings the track, its context, and the connection between friends into one social sharing flow.
03 / Research & Discovery
Research & Discovery
The low-fidelity wireframes map account access, discovery, friends, chats, profiles, song pages, and avatar editing. They also outline the core sharing sequence: choose a song, say why it matters, select friends, and continue the conversation.
04 / Process & Iterations
Finding the clearest path through the work.
I carried the core flows into a high-fidelity interactive prototype, refining the screens for discovery, song sharing, friends, chats, and profile creation.
The visual direction uses bold type, heavy black outlines, offset shadows, and bright color accents to give the experience its playful neobrutalist character.
05 / The Solution
A system designed to make the important parts easier to see.
Melody brings music discovery and friend connections together in a mobile-first social experience. The prototype lets people share a Spotify track with a reason, then continue through friend profiles and chats. It remains a prototype rather than a shipped product.
